Have you lost trust and confidence that God listens?

Daily life continuously challenges us to look at our natural circumstances and ask, Where is God in all this? Especially when we believed God had told us something specific, only to find after a while it really had been our own idea and thoughts all along, and not God's at all!

Our first response can be, Why did God allow me to miss it? Where was He when I prayed and asked about all this? These questions are real and valid. The answer to them will be different for every person.

Sometimes our own desires are so strong that we believe them to be of the Lord. Sometimes what we believe is indeed from the Lord, but our disobedience to the leading of His Holy Spirit can cause us to miss what He intended. Discerning all these different circumstances can be very overwhelming and cause us to give up hope in God, and in trusting Him. Or we can give up on trusting our ability to correctly hear His Voice.

Will you not take some time today just to ponder the Scriptures that are part of today's reading? And then speak to the Lord about the disappointments you have in your heart about hearing His Voice. Repent of any negligence on your side or perhaps disobedience to His Voice that you realize now is the reason for some problems you face in your life. Ask for the Holy Spirit to heal your heart and restore back to you your faith in hearing God's Voice and in trusting Him in everything.
