Burnout Epidemic: Part V

The Harvard Business Review discovered six reasons behind the growing level of manager burnout. The fourth reason in our series is the lack of a supportive community.

The pandemic and hybrid work model has made building a culture of a supportive community even more difficult than before. At UBN, we host a weekly prayer time for our many friends of the ministry, but also for the individual needs of each team member.

Sometimes, the requests seem minor, but when a team member is overwhelmed by life or their workload, the power of prayer has been incredible.

1 Timothy 2:1 teaches, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people.”

Sometimes, the best way a community can support one another is with prayer.

Question For Reflection

  • When was the last time you sat down with one of your employees and asked them how they were? Are you encouraging your employees to do the same for each other? Is there space in your business for uplifting each other?
  • Is there much interaction with your customers on a day-to-day basis? Are you making time to build relationships, or are you just perpetuating the hustle and bustle? When was the last time you sat down and prayed with someone outside your close friends or family?
