HE HAS A PLAN FOR MY LIFE
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:8-10
How often do we think of ourselves as God’s handiwork? I know I rarely do, especially as I confuse God saving me from sin and death with Him saving me for Himself and His good works. This shifts from our inner belief to the active sense of living out our faith.
In saving us for, God prepares us for the good things he planned for us in advance. In saving us by His grace and offering His salvation that we could never deserve, He invites us to a fulfilled life that He has planned for us.
Fasting and prayer are part of this invitation to come to God and discern His plan for your life. In these moments of listening for the Lord's will and welcoming His transformation in you, you become a recipient of His gift of salvation and a co-worker in the life God has planned for you.
Take time to pause and reflect on the plans you have for your life and invite God into your plans:
- How do your plans and God’s plans for you differ?
- How can you work with God to align your plans to His?
- What are your next steps to involve God in your daily life?

“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with your whole heart.” (Jeremiah 29:13) This is a promise that God gave His people 2,600 years ago. It was a promise that the effort to pursue God would be rewarded with finding Him. For the next 21 days, we will pray and fast as we seek our Lord. He is our Promise Keeper.
