God’s Light in the DarknessPavyzdys

God’s answer to darkness
How do we answer the darkness of this world? Look around you. There are murders, robberies, child abuse, and the list could go on and on. Does it anger you? It angers God, too. In Psalm 90:11 Moses writes: “If only we knew the power of your anger! Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.” If only we knew how angry God was when we clicked that tempting website or hurt that friend or said nothing about another’s sin. Just picture it. Take all the praise that this world owes God for his perfect love. His anger over sin is no less. It’s terrifying!
Moses goes on to say: “Have compassion on your servants. Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days” (verses 13,14). What is God’s answer to evil? His answer is Jesus. In Jesus, God became us. He stepped out of eternity into this world of suffering to be near us. He saw our hurt, and he wanted to take it away because he loves us. That is compassion. God judged Jesus guilty on the cross, so he could judge us innocent. And as much as it breaks our hearts and God’s heart, he lets us wayward people still do wrong things on this earth until he comes again because he wants us to hear about his forgiveness and live. That is God’s answer to the darkness.
