Forgiveness: What Makes It Easier?Pavyzdys
Forgiveness: We Do It By Faith
Luke 17:3-6 (KJV) says: Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him. And if he trespass against thee seven times in a day, and seven times in a day turn again to thee, saying, I repent; thou shalt forgive him. And the apostles said unto the Lord, Increase our faith. And the Lord said, If ye had faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye might say unto this sycamine tree, Be thou plucked up by the root, and be thou planted in the sea; and it should obey you.
Considering the response of Jesus’ disciples, we see that it takes faith to forgive. We, too, can cry out, “Lord, increase my faith to forgive, trusting that you are a God of justice.”
Unforgiveness is like a tree with fruits of anger, bitterness, sickness, and spiritual stagnation. We can use our faith in the God of justice and righteousness to uproot the tree of unforgiveness.
Would you please take a moment and release anyone who has wronged you? If possible, seek reconciliation with faith that God will make things right.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you for helping me see my need to forgive. I come to you in the name of Jesus, I confess that I am finding it hard to forgive ______. Father, I receive the faith to forgive _______. In the name of Jesus, I uproot every tree of unforgiveness in me. Teach me to love and extend mercy to ______, in the name of Jesus. Father, thank you for your mercy and grace
