Jesus is both our Teacher and Lord. When we love and worship Him, it increases our capacity to love others. Loving and worshipping Jesus empowers us to love others greater. When we love God more than anything, we bear His image. He changes everything!
We are “imaging creatures,” and when we choose to worship Jesus, we choose to love him above all else. We don’t get a choice about whether we worship, but we do get a choice about what we worship. We become what we love and who we love shapes who we become. Jesus is the only one who can carry the weight of our worship. Everyone worships, but anything other than finding meaning in Christ will eat us alive. Only then can we begin to bear His image and become more fully human and better at showing love to others. The flourishing life is found only in Christ.
