Satan’s work is evil and suffering. From the beginning, God planned that his Son should deal the death blow to Satan, evil, and suffering; reverse the Curse; redeem a fallen humanity; and repair a broken world.

What Jesus did about evil and suffering was so great and unprecedented that it shook the angelic realm’s foundation. It ripped in half, from the top down, not only the temple curtain but also the fabric of the universe itself. 

Scripture says that Jesus, “having disarmed the powers and authorities…made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them by the cross” (Colossians 2:15). Jesus’ triumph ensured Satan’s defeat; only the execution of Satan’s sentence remains (Revelation 20:10). 

What more can we ask from Jesus than what he’s done for us and what he promises he will yet do?
