Wrapping Up Advent
It is our hope that this season of Advent has been marked by the richness of Christ and the love, joy, peace and hope that were ushered in with His coming. Though we have walked through each of these, their definition, cause and origin, He is the constant thread in each. He is their perfect display and the hope of their existence in our lives and our world. Our focus must be on Him, not only through this calendar season, but in every season.
Read through some of the passages that stood out to you over the past weeks. Meditate on some of the truths of which His Spirit provided understanding. Share the story of Christ with someone that does not know Him or remind someone that does of The Good News of His coming. Reflect on the character of God, that He would choose to bring rescue to us through Christ. Pray for your heart to dwell securely in His hope, His peace, His joy and His love. Pray that over your family, your friends and your world, both near and far.
Families With Young Children
KIDS, Remember that Advent season is about the anticipation of Jesus coming. How great that He came to the earth as a baby, even greater that His purpose in coming was fulfilled years later on the cross.
Read John 3:16. KIDS, That is probably a very familiar verse to many of you. What do you know is true from that verse? Who does God love? How did He act on that love? What can you do in response to His love?
KIDS, Spend some time in prayer thanking God that He is hope, joy, peace, and love. Thank Jesus for coming to the earth as a humble baby and ultimately going to the cross to die for all of our sin and being the sacrifice through which we can have a relationship with God. Ask God to help you show hope, joy, peace, and love to others.

The birth of Christ, His advent, marks God's ultimate plan for our redemption. In Christ, we see the fullest picture of God's hope, peace, joy and love. God's Word is the truth by which we know and walk with Him daily. It is our hope that this guide will encourage and facilitate personal time spent in the Word and provide a resource for families with children to do that together.
