DAY 27 OF 31

A Prayer for the Youth of Our Nation

“A couple of weeks ago an Irving, Texas teen was arrested for selling his classmate for sex.” – Traffick911, Abolition International Shelter Association member

Dear God,

I pray for the many teams of people working to raise awareness in schools and juvenile detention facilities about the realities and dangers of sex trafficking. We commit these actions [of speaking to youth] to you, Lord, so that our plans [to make a difference] will succeed. (Prov. 16:3) You do mighty things through young people.

Joseph was made overseer in the house of the captain of the guard in Egypt when he was just 17. (Gen. 37:2; 39:1-4) David was only a boy when he killed a giant. (1 Sam. 17:42) Josiah was only 8 years old when he became king in Jerusalem. (2 Chron. 34:1-2) As knowledge of human trafficking spreads, I ask that you call out and set apart young leaders in this generation to be a light to their peers.

I pray for a great army of young people to rise up and take a stand for justice and mercy, calling out and reporting suspicious and dangerous behavior found online, in school, at parties, and among friends or family. Use the voice of our youth to bring rescue and prevention, and to help abolish sex slavery in our lifetime. In the matchless name of Jesus I pray, amen.
