The Fruit of the Spirit: Kindness is a fruit of the Spirit
You know, it doesn’t take a whole lot of brains to treat people the way they deserve. Anybody can be nice to people who are sweet, yet take revenge on people who are mean. It takes the Holy Spirit to transform us into kind people, meaning that we treat people better than they deserve.
The Bible tells us in Galatians chapter 5 that kindness is one of the fruits of the Spirit. “The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control” (Galatians 5:22,23). That’s great news--it means that God is helping us to become like that. Our inspiration is to recall how kind God has first been to us. He showered kindness upon us through his Son, Jesus, our Savior. That’s why we shower love and kindness upon our loving God and upon the people he allows into our lives.
Let the Spirit lead you today to treat someone better than he or she deserves! The Fruit of the Spirit: Kindness is a fruit of the Spirit
