You Are Gifted: Living sacrifices
In the Old Testament, believers brought animals to the tabernacle, ritually slaughtered them, and offered the carcasses as a sacrifice to God. This pointed to the ultimate sacrifice that would pay for the sins of all people.
The New Testament tells us that Christ Jesus was that ultimate sacrifice. He lived, died, and rose to forgive us and earn us heaven. Today God calls on you to offer a sacrifice, not of bloody animals, and surely not for sin. That was done once for all on the cross of Calvary. You are to be a living sacrifice.
God has given you spiritual gifts, and he promises that you will find your greatest satisfaction in life as you use those gifts to serve people. Not only has Christ forgiven you, he has empowered you to be transformed in the way you look at your life. The Bible says, “You will be able to test and approve what God’s will is--his good, pleasing and perfect will” (Romans 12:2).You Are Gifted: Living sacrifices
