More Than Just a Story - the Book of Johnಮಾದರಿ

Have you ever read the classic children’s book “Guess How Much I Love You?” The premise is that the parent’s love for their child is boundless. The book coined the phrase “I love you to the moon and back.”

A parent's love is great, but God's love is even greater. He demonstrates this love by giving us His one and only Son, Jesus. To the original reader, the phrase one and only Son carried deep significance. In a culture where lineage was everything, giving up an only son meant the end of a bloodline—the sacrifice of an entire legacy, an entire future, for us.

We don’t have to guess how much God loves us. We don’t have to question. His love is on complete display. It’s been shown through the life, death and resurrection of God’s one and only son Jesus.

John 3:16-21 is beautifully put. It’s actually the Good News. Verse 16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” Emphasis on WHOEVER BELIEVES.

Done. Signed. Sealed delivered. You are His.

Putting your faith in Jesus as Lord and Savior not only comes with the promise of salvation but the truth that heaven on earth starts now. You get to walk in the freedom of light.

You no longer stand condemned. You no longer have to live in shame. Sin no longer has a stronghold over you. Will you mess up? Of course, you’re still human, but what changes in following Jesus is that He calls you to come closer. When you come closer, you’re reminded that you’re forgiven, you’re loved and nothing can separate you from God’s love (Romans 8).

So if you’re trying to guess how much God really loves you today, look to Jesus. You don’t have to guess anymore.
