A First Nations Christmas for Kids

DAY 5 OF 5

Telling the Amazing Story

*In the Bible, nearly all the names have meaning. The same is true for our First Nations people. This means that the translations of the Hebrew and Greek names of biblical people and places have been presented in a First Nations style.

The shepherds began to tell everyone what they had seen and heard about this child, and all who heard their story were amazed. . . . [Then they] returned to their fields, giving thanks to the Great Spirit for the wonders they had seen and heard. (Luke 2:17-20, First Nations Version)

Great Spirit (God) chose to use regular people to make incredibly big plans happen. The shepherds were simply going about their normal day when they were called upon to do an extremely important job. They got to tell everyone that Creator Sets Free (Jesus) was here!

We are never too little or unimportant to do big things for God. What is something amazing or wondrous that God has done in your life that you can share with those around you?

Prayer:

Dear Great Spirit (God), please help me to see all the amazing things you are doing around me! And help me to be excited and brave to share those things with my family and friends.

Activity:

Cut a piece of construction paper in the shape of a megaphone. On the megaphone, write down one thing God has done in your life that you can share with others.
