Someone Else's Worldಮಾದರಿ

Pray then like this:
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name.
Your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil." Matthew 6:9-13
The Lord's Prayer is a DNA prayer - a simple idea yet complex. This prayer lays out the intentionality of God and covers all of the bases of what we could need, ask for, or desire to converse with God.
While this prayer has an intentional pattern and order, it isn't meant to be an algorithm. This prayer is meant to be a conversation with God as Our Father.
You can't strip Christianity from the Fatherhood of God. The admission of this alone makes me nervous because let's face it...I have intimacy issues. You have intimacy issues. We don't know how to be known fully. To be known and loved is the deepest longing of our soul and the greatest fear.
Especially when we talk about fatherhood...
It is no coincidence that the prayer begins with "Our Father." Fatherhood is where this Garden Kingdom begins. The Father is how I journey with God—not moralism, perfectionism, or religion. There is only one way through the Father, and that is through His Son, Christ Jesus.
Embracing the heart of the Father is embracing an eternal Kingdom of belonging.
THINK ABOUT IT:
1. This embracing of Our Heavenly Father's heart will require us to let go of our negative experiences with our earthly fathers. How is Our Heavenly Father different from your Earthly Father?
PRAYER PROMPT:
Father, help me to let go of my earthly ideas of fatherhood, good and bad. May I embrace the heavenly Truth of Fatherhood so I can begin to flourish in Your Garden.
