When Your World Endsಮಾದರಿ

Just a Taste
Any parent can share stories about trying to feed their children. Parents play games, bargain, and threaten just to get their children to taste a few bites. Over and over, parents settle for their children eating less than they were offered. Even when their children clean their plates, parents have more to offer with the next meal.
While we fuss about tasting what God has to offer, God can do so much more and offer so much more. We take a few bites when he’s holding a full plate. Even when we take it all, God has more for the next time. God is not bound by our limits. God can even expand our limits.
Just like we eat more food than we did as infants, when reimagining our lives, our appetites for creativity can expand too. And no matter the creative craving or how much it grows, God can fill our creative bellies.
Have a penchant for adding new spices to your menu? Shake some in and take a bite! Want to try your hand at programming? Watch a training video online and take a bite! The world is your creative buffet. Take a bite of whatever interests you! If you like it, eat your fill, then belly up for the next meal—God can arrange for so much more!
Prayer:
Almighty God, thank you for our creative appetites and how you feed them. Please feed us with fresh creative ideas and inspiration. Please enhance the gifts, talents, and skills you’ve already given us, and when they’re needed, equip us with more. When we doubt our abilities, please remind us of your ability and its ability to exceed others’ expectations and our limitations. In the matchless name of Jesus, amen.
For Further Reflection:
How is your creative appetite today? Are you hungry or satisfied? Why? What is your response when God offers you creative ideas? Do you fuss, nibble, or clean your plate?
Activity:
God is doing a new thing (Isaiah 43:19). Oh, taste and see (Psalm 34:8). Taste something new today!
Thought for the Day:
God can fill our creative appetites, no matter how great or often the craving.

About this Plan

Reimagining your life requires creativity. After all, you need your imagination to produce ideas that lead to something new. If you can’t see life differently, you’re stuck. That’s a stumbling block. So, I created this devotional to help you revitalize your creativity by tapping into five of God’s characteristics—eternal, majestic, creative, omnipotent, and omniscient. See how God operates. Then, begin dreaming again.
