Day 4: Equipped by God

Imagine being handed a toolbox and being told to build something great. You open it and find only a handful of nails, a hammer, and a tape measure. It may seem like you don’t have enough, but an experienced carpenter can take even the simplest tools and create something extraordinary.

David’s approach to Goliath mirrors this concept. Instead of relying on traditional warfare tools, such as swords or shields, he used what he had experience with: a sling, stones, and his faith in God. Though others might have seen his tools as inadequate, David knew God had prepared him through years of shepherding, protecting his flock, and trusting in God’s Provision.

You might look at your own “toolbox” and feel under-qualified for the battles you face. But God has already given you everything you need to accomplish His Work. Your experiences, skills, and struggles are part of the equipping process. Trust that the God who Called you has also prepared you.

Lord, thank You for equipping me for the battles I face. Help me use what You’ve provided to accomplish Your Work. Amen.
