GONE FISHIN'

A grandmother of seven sat beside me and was very friendly.

When discussing the messed up world, I asked, "Have you been feeling a greater need for God lately?"

She said "I believe God is in everybody and everywhere. Jesus was a superpower able to do healing but I don't believe in heaven. Heaven is what you make it on Earth."

God gave me the boldness after the 10-question survey to ask her what she thinks of Jesus Christ. She gave me a general answer so I asked her to be more specific. Her answer was quite empty.

So, with God's prompting, I explained the prophecies of his coming, crucifixion, and resurrection. I offered that people who died rather than deny Christ wouldn't die for a lie.

I gave her Steps to Peace with God by Billy Graham, reminding her she may be wrong. I suggested she would certainly want her children and grandchildren to go to heaven.

She said "I learned so much today! Thank you!" We laughed a lot!
