The New Templeಮಾದರಿ

“I will take my stand at my watch post and station myself on the tower, and look out to see what he will say to me, and what I will answer concerning my complaint.” – Habakkuk 2:1
Sometimes restoration is a waiting game. Sure, we want things to be done immediately, but often that is not how the Lord works. There is something beautiful to be found in the waiting, it is an opportunity to draw near to God. To use a popular saying, “there is joy in the waiting.”
We may cry out with the Psalmist:
“I wait for the Lord, my soul waits, and in his word I hope; my soul waits for the Lord more than the watchmen for the morning, more than the watchmen for the morning.” – Psalm 130:5-6
We live in an “instant” culture. We can have our food delivered to our door, we can search for anything online in a matter of seconds, and we can travel anywhere in the world in a matter of hours or day. We are not used to waiting. When God takes a long time to answer, it can be difficult to trust Him.
The Lord is faithful to answer. His promises are secure, so we can be bold in our waiting, just as the prophet Habakkuk stood at his proverbial watchtower to hear God’s reply. Waiting well is a tenant of good faithfulness. It is a patient, confident trust in the Lord and his promises.
Stay alert and be aware of the Spirit’s moving in you.
Reflection:
Why is it hard to wait on God’s timing? Can you think of any promises in the Bible that took a LONG TIME to be fulfilled? How can waiting on God strengthen our Faith?
Other Verses to Consider:
-Isaiah 40:31
-Psalm 27:14
-Matthew 25:1-13
-Mark 13:32-37
