DAY 12 OF 21

Day 12: Purpose in the Pain

Job’s story is one of the most remarkable examples of faith in the Bible. He lost everything—his children, his wealth, his health—yet he refused to turn his back on God. Amid his suffering, Job declared, “Though He slay me, yet will I hope in Him.”

Pain is never easy to endure, but it can become a powerful tool in God’s hands. He doesn’t waste a single tear or trial. He uses our pain to refine us, teach us, and draw us closer to Him. For Job, his suffering became the backdrop for a greater revelation of God’s character. At the end of his story, Job said, “My ears had heard of You, but now my eyes have seen You” (Job 42:5).

Are you walking through pain today? Maybe it’s grief, disappointment, or a season of waiting. Let me encourage you: God sees you. He knows your heartache, and He is with you in the midst of it. Even when you don’t understand, trust that He is working for your good.

Spend time in prayer today, pouring out your heart to God. Be honest about your struggles, and then ask Him to reveal His presence in your pain. Declare: “Lord, I don’t understand everything I’m going through, but I trust You. Use this pain for Your glory and my growth.”

Remember, pain is not the end of your story. Like Job, you will come through this season with a deeper understanding of God’s love and faithfulness.

About this Plan

21 Days of Breakthrough

Over the next 21 days, we are setting aside time to seek God intentionally—through fasting, prayer, and giving. Matthew 6 reminds us that these three practices draw us closer to the heart of God and position us to experience His faithfulness in extraordinary ways. Each day, we'll be walking with you through stories from Scripture, personal reflections, and encouragement for this journey. Take time to reflect, pray, and let God speak to you. We're believing that as we lean into this together, He will do above and beyond all we could ask or imagine.
