Acts 8:4-25 | God Uses Bad Opportunitiesಮಾದರಿ
The miracles and gospel message of Jesus that Philip was preaching attracted a lot of attention in Samaria. It also attracted the attention of a man named Simon who practiced sorcery. Before Philip’s arrival, Simon flaunted his power, and it so impressed (or frightened) the other Samaritans that they recognized his power as “the Great Power of God.”
Simon realized that Philip’s power was greater, causing Simon to believe and be baptized. Incredible! Even those wrapped up with evil powers are coming to recognize the greater power through the greater authority of the kingdom of God. Christ’s gospel is for everyone.
Receiving Jesus as our Savior and being baptized is the first step in our life with Christ. Jesus. John 12, illustrates how our faith is like the root of a plant that needs to grow deep or it will wither and die. What are you doing to make sure your faith is growing deeper in the mighty and awesome God?
