We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God

DAY 198 OF 365

Day 198 of 365

In 2 Kings 17, Israel’s exile comes as a result of their rebellion, while 2 Kings 18 introduces Hezekiah, who restores worship and seeks God with a pure heart. His reign contrasts sharply with the disobedience that led Israel to destruction. Galatians 4 reminds us that, through Christ, we are no longer slaves but God’s children. As His children, we are invited to trust in His sovereign plans and timing, knowing He lovingly reigns over our lives. The Holy Spirit guides us to rest in this truth, freeing us from anxiety and fear.

Trusting God’s sovereignty isn’t always easy; it requires us to surrender our desires and plans to His perfect wisdom. The Spirit assures us that God sees our lives from beginning to end, orchestrating all things for our good. When we fully trust in God’s control, we experience a peace that transcends circumstances.

Today, ask the Holy Spirit to help you release control and trust in God’s sovereignty. Surrender any plans or worries that weigh on your heart, and find peace in His perfect will. May you reflect a deep trust in God’s love and wisdom, inspiring others to place their confidence in Him.

About this Plan

We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God

We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God is a 365-day Bible reading plan led by Bishop Gary Lewis, the General Overseer of the Church of God. The plan is designed to deepen your faith and understanding of God’s Word. Each day begins with a short devotional, followed by carefully curated Scripture readings, and concludes with the S.O.A.P. exercise—Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. Through this plan, you’ll grow in biblical literacy, discover God’s mercy and purpose, and learn to partner with Him in His Kingdom work.
