We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God

DAY 157 OF 365

Day 157 of 365

In Psalm 110, we see a vision of the Messiah’s victory and power, seated at God’s right hand. This psalm reminds us that God’s purposes prevail, even against the darkest forces. In John 16, Jesus promises the disciples that although they will face challenges, they can take heart because He has “overcome the world.” The Holy Spirit empowers us to live in this assurance of victory, even when life feels overwhelming.

Psalm 138 continues this theme of triumph, as David praises God for strengthening him when he called out in need. The Spirit fills us with this same confidence, knowing that God’s power is at work within us, enabling us to face trials with courage and resilience. When we rely on Him, we’re not left to fight alone; His strength sustains and equips us.

Today, invite the Holy Spirit to strengthen your faith and remind you of Christ’s victory. Whatever obstacles or fears you face, take heart in knowing that Jesus has overcome them all. Stand firm in the power of His Spirit, trusting that His strength is more than sufficient for every challenge.

About this Plan

We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God

We Grow: A Journey of Drawing Closer to God is a 365-day Bible reading plan led by Bishop Gary Lewis, the General Overseer of the Church of God. The plan is designed to deepen your faith and understanding of God’s Word. Each day begins with a short devotional, followed by carefully curated Scripture readings, and concludes with the S.O.A.P. exercise—Scripture, Observation, Application, and Prayer. Through this plan, you’ll grow in biblical literacy, discover God’s mercy and purpose, and learn to partner with Him in His Kingdom work.
