Prayers of the Bibleಮಾದರಿ
When was the last time you prayed for boldness?
Today’s reading is about a prayer from the book of Acts.
Peter and John do not pray for boldness from a cushy place, they had experienced persecution, they knew the consequences of what they were asking for. Praying for boldness is like praying for patience, when you pray for patience, you all of a sudden encounter situations where you need to practise patience, and so when you pray for boldness you will encounter scary situations.
When was the last time you prayed for boldness?
As disciples of Christ who have been commissioned to share the good news of Jesus to the world around us, we need to be bold.
And try as we might, I hate to break it to you, but… you can’t manufacture lasting courage. But we can pray for it and pray that the Holy Spirit will fill us with the boldness we need to be used for the furthering of the gospel.
Today, ponder this: Do you have opportunities where you need to be bold? How can you intentionally include boldness in your prayers for yourself and others?
