DAY 20 OF 21

Day 20: Stop Doubting

Read John 20

Thomas, often called "Doubting Thomas," was really just being honest. After hearing about Jesus’ Resurrection, he struggled to believe it without seeing proof. He famously said, "Unless I see the nail marks in His hands, I will not believe." We’ve all been there—doubt creeps in, especially when life gets tough or things don’t make sense.

Thomas had followed Jesus closely, witnessed miracles, and even saw Jesus raise people from the dead. Yet, after experiencing the trauma of the Crucifixion, he struggled to believe in the Resurrection without seeing it for himself. It’s a feeling many of us can relate to when our faith is shaken by hardships.

But here’s the amazing part: Jesus didn’t condemn Thomas for his doubt! Instead, Jesus met him right in the middle of it. He invited Thomas to touch His scars and believe. Jesus' Message was clear: "Stop doubting and believe." Thomas’ response was powerful—“My Lord and my God!”

This story shows us that doubt doesn’t disqualify us from God’s Love. Jesus is patient with us, meeting us where we are and giving us the Grace to move from doubt to faith. He wants us to trust Him, even when we don’t have all the answers.

So, what do you do when you’re doubting? Acknowledge your doubts and bring them to Jesus. He isn’t afraid of your questions. Then, seek His assurance through prayer and His Word. Finally, take small steps of faith, even when you’re unsure. Acting in faith helps build trust in God, even when doubt is knocking at the door.

Reflection Questions:

  1. What doubts are you wrestling with right now? How can you bring them to Jesus?
  2. What step of faith can you take today, even if you're still working through doubt?
