A Season of Waiting

DAY 13 OF 28

We All Have a Calling

How many of us have responded with fear when God revealed our calling? When He made it clear He wants to use us to fulfil His purpose here on earth in a VERY specific way?

Now most of us won’t have a calling of such gravity as Mary, or be surrounded by so much controversy as a result of it, but many of us will still become overwhelmed, fighting disbelief, filled with fear.

While we may not have an angel declaring our destiny and reassuring us of how God sees us, we’re living in a time in history where the Holy Spirit is able to whisper to our hearts… we just need to be intentional enough to listen and remain still enough to hear.

Mary’s response is a wonderful example of how we too should respond to the revelation of the Lord’s calling on our lives: ‘I am the Lord’s servant… May your word to me be fulfilled’ (Luke 1:38).

Like Mary, you’ve been created on purpose, and for a purpose. Created to fulfil a plan God had for your life since the moment He formed you, placed you in your mother’s womb, and breathed life into your lungs.

May we all seek the Lord’s Word for our lives, and surrender to His will, as Mary did.

About this Plan

A Season of Waiting

“The original definition of advent was used to describe the preparation time to welcome the arrival of a person or event of significance. For Christians, it is a time to prepare to remember the birth of Jesus as our saving one (Messiah).” (What Is Advent? Kath Henry). As we approach Christmas & the New Year, read along with this plan and focus your hearts back on Him.
