Day 4- Sharing Your Story
Discover: We all have ways that God, through his power, has changed us in ways we could never imagine. These moments in our lives mark times when we turn to God and surrender everything to Him. These moments in our lives are called testimonies. When we testify of the Lord’s goodness and favor in our own lives, like dominos, we see the people around us begin to move as well. When we evangelize and share God’s story with others, we need to also remember that we are called to share our own story as well. In 1 Peter 3:15, we are told to always be ready to give a reason for the hope that we have. How has God transformed your life? When problems arise, how can you cling to the Lord? Your testimony has the power to change lives, and if God’s love is evident through your life, go and tell people about it. We see that in Acts 1:8, where we are called to be Christ’s witnesses empowered by the Holy Spirit to share our faith. If you know Christ, then you know the wonders He has done in your life.
Learn: Our faith journey has the power to make an impact on the people the Lord puts in our path. In Revelation 12:11, the author writes that “they triumphed over him, the enemy, by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimonies.” Our stories have the power to defeat any distractions the enemy puts in our way. So, when we can lean into our vulnerability, and share with others the things that Christ has done in our own lives, then we can see a move of the Spirit begin to bring people to want to know Him more. Your story may just be the key that can unlock someone else’s prison.
Apply: Now is the time to reflect on your faith journey. How has the Lord transformed your life? Write down your testimony and share it with a friend this week. After you do that, spend the next 5 minutes with God. Thank Him for what he has done in your life and for the blessings he has stowed upon you.
· How has God transformed your life from the inside out?
· Why do you think testimonies are powerful tools for sharing the Gospel?
· What role does being vulnerable play in sharing your testimony, and how can embracing it lead to more impactful conversations?
· How can you make sharing your testimony a regular part of your faith journey, and who in your life might benefit from it?
