Be Humbleಮಾದರಿ

Sometimes comparison happens not because we do it to ourselves, but because others do it for us. They compare us to other people around us, making judgments about who is better, faster, smarter, funnier, better looking, or more fun to be around. Being on the receiving end of that comparison rarely feels good, does it? Even when we come out on top, we know there’s one more comparison around the corner where we may not measure up.
When Paul wrote his letter to the Corinthians, that’s exactly what was happening to him. People were comparing him to another leader in the church. And what was Paul’s answer? Recognizing that everything we have is given to us by God. That means there’s nothing about us that doesn’t measure up. That truth—the truth we’re made by God and all we have is from God—should be what gives us confidence.
Today, make a short list of things that God has given you or ways God has made you. Take a moment and say a prayer of thanks for each one as you go.
