God Didn't Make a Mistake
READY:
“But Moses replied to the Lord, “Please, Lord, I have never been eloquent—either in the past or recently or since you have been speaking to your servant—because my mouth and my tongue are sluggish.” The Lord said to him, “Who placed mouth on humans? Who makes a person mute or deaf, seeing or blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go! I will help you speak and I will teach you what to say.” – Exodus 4:10-12
SET:
I’m from Clarksville, Tennessee, the same home as Wilma Rudolph, an American sprinter and Olympic champion. Early in her childhood, was diagnosed with polio. In the 1940s, polio usually meant that you would have damage to your legs or even lose the ability to walk altogether. When diagnosed, no one could have imagined the life she would go on to live as a professional athlete and one of the fastest women of her time.
Sometimes, the most unexpected person ends up making history or becomes the leader of nations. In scripture, Moses repeatedly asked God to find someone else to lead the Israelites out of Egypt. He told God He couldn’t be a leader because of his speech problem. God rebuked Him and asked Moses who made him. God knew every challenge that Moses had here on earth. God didn’t see Moses’ speech as a reason to keep him from leading, so neither should Moses. God also didn’t see Wilma’s polio as something that would stop her from pursuing her dreams.
We constantly put limits on ourselves based on what the world puts on us. Why don’t we stop listening to what the world and ourselves say about us and start listening to what God, our Creator, says? He made us exactly how we are, is with us through the trials that seem to make no sense and will guide us to becoming the person He has designed us to be. Will you trust who God says you are?
GO:
- What limits are you putting on yourself right now?
- Do you believe that God was intentional in designing you?
- Say one thing that you know to be true about how God made you.
WORKOUT

Psalm 139:13-16
OVERTIME:
“Abba Father, You created me with Your perfect story in mind. We can not see everything You are doing and moving around us daily. Help us not to question Your perfect design. Give us the confidence to know when You call us to something You have equipped us for. Amen."
