Five Reasons Why God Tarriesಮಾದರಿ
Wait a minute…
Have you found yourself in a place where you have done literally everything you know to do and pray, but there is still no breakthrough or change in a situation in answer to your requests and prayers? Why are there sometimes delays - often longer than we feel we can bear - before God answers our prayers?
Nobody likes to wait, not in the food store, or at the doctor's office, at a red light, or in the bank.
WAITING JUST KILLS YOU!
Wait a moment … is that the reason for the wait?
More than our personal happiness, God is interested in us growing into the image and character of the Lord Jesus (Galatians 4:19). God knows just the amount of time needed for us to come to the end of ourselves. We might think we are at our end, yet may stubbornly hold on to our point of view or wrong habits. Somehow, the waiting on God's answer, sanctifies our inner man. We begin to see the selfishness of some of our own desires.
The waiting helps us reconsider the way in which we approach God in prayer. Our attitude begins to change. Our words change, and reverence increases. The waiting helps us look at the true reasons why we ask and want what we ask for. It shows us the true nature of the desperation of our hearts.
BE HONEST...
>> Write down three specific things you have been praying and trusting God for.
>> Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the condition and attitude of your heart in each of these matters. Have you 'died' to self, trusting Him to answer when and how He knows will be best for you?
>> Pray Psalm 51:10 - Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me. (AMPC) Ask the Lord to clean and purify your heart.
