DAY 2 OF 10

Topic: Secured and Assured

What does it say?

Believers can be certain that God is for them and that nothing will separate them from the love of God in Christ Jesus.

What does it mean?

Paul triumphantly declares the believer’s security in Christ. Nobody can come against us. Nobody can bring a charge against us. Nobody can condemn us. Nothing can separate us from God’s love. If we are in Christ, we can be sure that God is for us. Jesus died for our sins and then was raised to life. He is seated at the right hand of God and is interceding for us. Evil forces may come against us, but they will not prevail. Christ’s victory assures us of God’s everlasting and unfailing love for the saints.

How should I respond?

This passage reminds us that no matter how we feel or what we do or what anyone else might do to us, we will not lose our salvation. This is not because we are good enough, but because Christ’s work is sufficient for us. We can rest in our salvation because God has promised us that nothing will separate us from him. Knowing that should free us from doubt and uncertainty and move us to live with gratitude and trust in His unfailing love. The rich promises we find in these verses should make us bold and courageous and move us to focus our energy on carrying the Gospel message to those who do not know Jesus. Who is God calling you to reach with the hope and security that you have in Jesus?
