DAY 3 OF 3

Three Keys to a Winning Culture: Part III

Former Chick-fil-a executive, Mark Miller, discovered three words to help any organization build a stronger culture. The final key is to Adapt.

As changes happen both within and outside of your company, if you’re not adapting and updating practices, your culture will begin to slide. Mark Miller recommends that you look for toxins and ways to improve. Once effective practices or healthy relationship can fester or wear thin over time

Peter experienced a pivotal moment when the culture of the early church was at risk. He adapted by confronting the toxic lies.

In Acts 5:3 we read, “But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back for yourself part of the proceeds of the land?

Ananias had lied about the price of his land to keep vital money from the early church. In order for the community they built together to actually work everyone had to pitch in otherwise the church would not be able to sustain its congregation. Due to his deception, Ananias died, sparing the culture of the early church.

By adapting your culture when necessary, God will help you prevent a cultural slide.

Questions for Reflection

  • What do you think is holding your work culture back? Is it practices? Beliefs? You? How could you correct the problem? Where do you want that culture to be?
  • What is a healthy work culture? What has been the healthiest culture you were a part of? What made it successful?
