The Return of Israelಮಾದರಿ
Day 4 – Prophecy Fulfilled
There are countless prophecies in the Bible about the return of Israel. Isaiah was already prophesying about it in 8th century B.C. Not even two centuries later, the Jews were carried away to Babylon (605-536 B.C.). Some say that Isaiah’s prophecy was fulfilled when the Jews returned from Babylon. There is truth in this, of course, but Isaiah prophesied about the return from all directions. The return from Babylon was a return from the east, maybe a bit from the north, but definitely not from the west and the south!
The return of the Jewish people to Israel over the past 150 years was from all directions. Jewish people are returning to Israel from every corner of the earth. The first came mostly from Russia, where they were fiercely persecuted. After that they began to come from everywhere! By now, Jews have come to Israel from over one hundred countries around the world; from China and India, from northern and southern Africa, from Europe, North and South America and from countries in the Middle East.
It is unbelievable. The history of Israel began there 4000 years ago. Great nations have come and gone. For centuries the Jews were scattered over the whole earth. Yet today Israel is inhabited by this same people, exactly as the Bible foretold.
Thank God that so many Jews are returning to Israel. Pray that the return of the Jews can continue; that they will not be deterred by governments or misfortunes.
About this Plan
God led the people of Israel to the promised land through Moses. Later, the Jews became scattered all over the world. Yet there is hope! The Bible is full of prophecies about the return of God's people to the land. In this reading plan, we look at those prophecies, the hope they offer, and we focus on their fulfilment, witnessing the return of the Jews to the promised land.
