Learning to Be Vulnerable

DAY 3 OF 5

THE CROWD

Jairus and the woman with the issue of blood didn't let the crowd prevent them from reaching Jesus.

Don't let people stop you from living what God has prepared for you. They may push you around, but they can't stop you. Decide to keep going. Don't let the fear of disappointing your parents or your spouse make you give up your faith. Don't let the influence of your relationships keep you from going to church. Don't let others' mistakes make you sin. Don't let someone's questioning make you start doubting. Don't let betrayal, envy, or someone's malice discourage you.

Despite the crowd surrounding Jesus, neither Jairus nor the woman turned their gaze away; they remained steadfastly focused on Christ. Jairus sought salvation for his household, while the woman sought healing, knowing exactly where to find it.

Don't let your gaze wander. Don't fixate on others. Stay undistracted. Don't strive to emulate anyone else. Jesus awaits you. "Who touched my garments?"—Jesus acknowledged the woman's action. Amidst the crowd, Jesus was seeking her out. What you do and who you are is significant to Him.

His disciples said to him, "You see the crowd pressing around you, and yet you ask, 'Who touched me?'" But Jesus kept looking around to see who had done it.

Never think you've been abandoned, and avoid comparing your life with God's to anyone else's. Remember: Jesus doesn't see the crowd; He sees the heart.
