Choose a Life of Eternal Impact

DAY 4 OF 5

Our Savior

“Where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God”

Today’s focus is our Savior. What makes heaven wonderful? It is “where Christ is.” Simply put, the best thing about heaven is Jesus.

He is our Savior and our ultimate source of joy. In heaven, we will be united with the one who knows us the best and loves us the most. Our loving relationship with Jesus brings joy in this life and eternal joy in the next. In Psalm 16:11, we are told that there is a fullness of joy in God's presence, and at His right hand are pleasures forevermore.

Even the best things on earth will one day fall apart, get boring, break, or run out. Things of earth are shallow and short-lived compared to Jesus — who is risen from the dead, ascended to the right hand of the Father, and reigns forever. He is the one who gives us true joy and pleasure that never run out to all who trust in Him.

Reflect on the lyrics of this powerful worship song Turn Your Eyes Upon Jesus:

Turn your eyes upon Jesus, Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His glory and grace.

Keep your focus on Jesus. This is what Paul is telling us to do—along with the believers who first received his letter to the Colossians.

About this Plan

Choose a Life of Eternal Impact

Missionary C. T. Studd once said, “Only one life, it will soon be past. Only what's done for Christ will last.” His words emphasize the value of living a life of eternal impact. If we want to discover our purpose and choose a life of eternal impact, then we have to begin with four simple action steps found in Colossians 3:1-2.
