Week 1 | Connecting With God

Day Four

Spend some time in prayer before you begin. Acknowledge the Holiness of God and repent to Him for any sins that might keep you from experiencing His word fully today.

• Read Revelation 4:1 again but this time try reading it in a different version than you did before, look up the definitions of words you don’t know, summarize what the passage is saying in your own words.
• Do some research, who wrote the book of Revelation? When was it written? To whom was it written? What genre of writing is it (Historical narrative, poetry, wisdom literature, law, prophesy, parables, epistles)? Why is all of this important?
• Do you think this passage teaches us about God’s creation, man’s sin, God’s redemption of man, or God’s restoration of man to Himself? It can be more than one. Why is it important to think about this?
• How does knowing God opened the door of Heaven to you change how you view Him? Why would He invite you into Heaven with Him?
• How should we respond to God calling us to Heaven with Him?
• Spend some time in prayer as you close, acknowledge what you learned about His character through this word. Repent to Him any sin issues this word brought up in your heart.
