Will there be animals on the New Earth? Oh yes! The Bible says there will be wolves, lambs, lions, birds, beasts, and “creatures that move along the ground” on the New Earth (see Isaiah 65:25 and Hosea 2:18).

And what’s even more incredible is that these animals won’t be able to hurt us! Revelation 21:4 says “There will be no more death….There will be no more crying or pain.” Which means that animals and humans will live in perfect harmony together.

Isaiah 11 makes this clear saying that kids will “play near the cobra’s den” and “lead” wild lions, leopards, and wolves. Here’s how I put this incredible promise in my picture book, The Royal in You:

God says He won’t rule this world all on His own,
He’ll send princes and princesses out from His throne.
To ride without fear on the backs of great lions
and blaze brand-new trails through the middle of Zion.

Now, after looking at that illustration, I know what you’re thinking: Will there be dinosaurs on the New Earth!? Quite possibly!

Pastor Randy Alcorn, who is one of the top experts on heaven and the New Earth alive today, says this: “I think we should fully expect that extinct animals and plants will be brought back to life. By resurrecting His original creation, God will show the totality of His victory over sin and death.”

Satan wants you to think that heaven is boring. Because if he can convince you of that, you won’t want to share your faith with others. But, as I hope you’re starting to see, the New Earth could not be more epic and exciting!

But who will be on the New Earth? And will we know our parents and friends there? We’ll answer those questions tomorrow, but for now talk through these questions with a grownup:

• If you could ride on the back of any animal on the New Earth, which one would you choose and why?
• How would God get greater glory and praise if He chooses to resurrect dinosaurs?
• Why do you think Satan wants people to believe that heaven is boring?
