[Deeply Rooted] God Is for Usಮಾದರಿ
God Sees Us
Have you ever felt completely overwhelmed or inundated by the circumstances of life? If you’ve ever felt this way—or if you feel this way today—you are not alone. As Christians, our faith is often tested during seasons like this. So, how do we walk through difficult circumstances with our faith and hope intact? In this devotional plan, we will examine three very important truths that can anchor our faith when we face trials: God sees us, God is with us, and God loves us. Remembering these things will help us endure pain and remain hopeful through despair.
The trials of life tend to cloud our view, and when it’s hard to see, it can be hard to move forward. At the beginning of 2024, hundreds of flights and trains were delayed or canceled in New Delhi, India’s capital, because of foggy weather conditions. Similarly, our lives can feel stuck or grounded when we can’t see past our difficulties or our pain. But even when we can’t see a way forward or a way through, God sees us.
There is a story in the Book of Genesis about a woman named Hagar who found herself in a life-threatening situation with her young child. She couldn’t see a way forward. Right when she was about to give up, she experienced God’s miraculous provision for her and her young child. The Bible says that she gave thanks that day to “the God who saw her.” He saw her in the middle of her need, desperation, and grief. That’s the God who sees us today! He sees us in our need. He sees us in the middle of desperation and grief. And He sees us even when we don’t see Him or recognize His presence (Proverbs 15:3, Jeremiah 32:19).
What makes this truth even better is that God doesn’t just see us, He cares about us. He isn’t far away, watching us through divine binoculars. He isn’t aloof or unmoved by our pain. That’s why the Bible encourages us to bring our needs and our griefs to Him. He truly cares about us. He invites us to bring our cares and burdens to Him. He is compassionate and desires to draw near to us. Take comfort today in knowing that God sees, and God cares for you. You are not alone in your struggles.
Thought of the Day: It may be hard to see through the fog of pain and confusion I’m in today, but I will hold on to the truth that God sees me. I will bring my burdens to Him because He also cares for me.
