Psalm 103 - a Blueprint for Gratitude

DAY 5 OF 7

Less Stress

Common grace (Matthew 5:45) and godly principles such as reaping and sowing (Galatians 6:7), hard work (Proverbs 14:23) and generosity (Luke 6:38) mean that non-believers experience good things. Many have access to material things that make life easier. But for those of us who believe in God, we have an added benefit. We no longer need to strive endlessly for good things because we know that every good and perfect gift ultimately comes from the Lord (James 1:17) and that his plans for our lives are far greater and better than our own plans (Isaiah 55:8-9). We can rest safe in the knowledge that he is in control. If we are willing to accept this benefit to serving the Lord, not only will we enjoy our lives and have peace of mind but we are likely to reduce our exposure to stress-related health problems.

Yet another reason to be grateful!

Psalm 103:5 - He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s! (NLT)
