Discovering Faith Amidst Uncertainty

DAY 4 OF 7

# Do You Feel Left Alone With This? [IMAGE CONTENT] Do you sometimes question God? You can tell me openly, and it's totally okay if you say yes. You still have the option to change your understanding. 😀 When Zechariah learned from an angel that he would finally become a father at his advanced age, he didn't believe it. He questioned God and His possibilities, which are not of this world. Don't just trust what is humanly possible; God's possibilities are not of this world! Zechariah couldn't do that at the moment, and so he became mute. (see Luke 1:20 NIV). Shortly thereafter, when the same angel went to Mary and told her that she was pregnant, her reaction was completely different from that of Zechariah. She believed. “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” (Luke 1:38 NIV). I find it interesting that it says immediately afterwards: “Then the angel left her.” (Luke 1:38 NIV). No drama—no muting—but the angel left her! Suddenly she was alone with this info! Without proof that what he said was really true! But she believed, and she continued to believe even in her loneliness. And then she experienced an unbelievable miracle: Jesus! Where do you feel “left alone?” Did God put something on your heart some time ago, but now you don't feel anything anymore and you question everything—including God—because you feel like you're stuck in a dead end? May I remind you today that: * your faith has mighty power as you trust in a mighty God; and * you are not alone in your experience. This shows us clearly the life and faith of Abraham, about whom it is said: “Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping—believing that he would become the father of many nations. For God had said to him, ‘That’s how many descendants you will have!’” (Romans 4:18 NLT). …and… “...Abraham never wavered in believing God’s promise. In fact, his faith grew stronger, and in this he brought glory to God.” (Romans 4:20 NLT). Decide today how you want to continue to believe: like doubting Zechariah? Or trusting Mary? Or firmly believing Abraham? You are a miracle! Déborah
