Night Lightಮಾದರಿ
Did you plug in the night light?
Don’t you love night lights?
They come in different varieties. For example, children like to stick them on the ceiling of their bedroom, and when it gets dark, they glow like stars.
But night lights are also nice for adults. I myself have one in the form of a socket lamp. It’s plugged in all day long, but it only lights up when it gets dark. I don't have to turn it on or care about it in any way; its light is automatic.
When I recently went through another unexpected dark time in my life (don't we always experience these dark times unexpectedly?), I noticed that my night lamp didn't work properly. It was as if it had a loose connection. For a moment there was light and hope, then it went out again.
Do you see the parallel? One moment you have the strength to get up and carry on, but the next moment you are lying in bed crying again.
If you find yourself here, may I remind you of what God has lovingly reminded me? Look up and into His Word. Because His Word is that constant light that never flickers:
"Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path." (Psalm 119:105 NIV)
As you do that, maybe even sitting in the dark while you open His Word, I pray that God meets you right there like never before and that you realize one thing:
Sometimes you have to walk through the darkness to see clearly again. And Jesus promises to walk that path with you.
"And so I thank You, Jesus, that You will meet us when the darkness threatens. May a new hope, coupled with great joy, break forth and miracles happen! Amen!"
You are a miracle!
