God's Redemption Story (The Prophets)

DAY 11 OF 40

Isaiah Week 3 – Day 1

Putting up an appearance of strength is a typically American attitude. We want people to believe we are superhumans rather than mere mortals. The worst part about it is that we all do it. Everyone is struggling with the same or similar issues, but we all want to look like we have it under control.

Isaiah 41:20 calls us to a very different approach. The prophet actually recommends we tell the world how weak we are in order to highlight how strong our God is. The Apostle Paul repeats this sentiment in 2 Corinthians. The point is that if we admit our weakness and give God the glory for our successes (or even just survival), more people will see that He can save them as well. Will you let your cracks show so that someone nearby can meet your mighty God?
