Confronting Fear in Persecutionಮಾದರಿ
VICTORY IN TIMES OF FEAR
Death is probably one of the most terrifying fears that we all have. Fear of death, in particular, could destroy your peace when faced with threats of persecution. Death is not our enemy because Jesus defeated it on the cross. We should then not be afraid of death because it has no power over us who are in Christ Jesus. We must constantly remind ourselves that, despite the persecution our bodies face, death will not prevent us from living fearlessly for Christ.
After being banished to the island of Patmos, John had several traumatic experiences. Perhaps, in his most profound fear of death, He had the opportunity to witness Christ in His full glory. That magnificent scene moved John to throw himself at Jesus' feet. But Jesus reminded him of who he was! He had not only defeated death, but he also held the keys of Death and Hades. Therefore, keep in mind the one who has triumphed over it and is in hold of the key anytime you find yourself in a situation where you fear persecution and death.
Commit and Pray
Does fear of death trouble you? Can you remind yourselves of the one who has defeated death and holds the keys of Death and Hades?
Let us pray that during the darkest moments of persecution, fear will not overtake us and that we will be reminded that for those who are in Christ Jesus, "death has lost its sting."
About this Plan
Fear is one of the most powerful emotions when someone is being persecuted. Attacks, imprisonment, closing of churches, and the death of loved ones and fellow believers due to faith can all leave us feeling fearful to move forward in our Christian journey and helpless. This reading plan is a great way to prepare yourself to face fear when facing persecution if you are fearful of it now.
