Waha Disciple Making Challengeಮಾದರಿ
From Seeker to Follower - What's the Path?
Effective faith-sharing involves patiently showing the joy of faith through our actions, allowing God to lead and teach, and using practical tools like Discovery Bible Study to inspire and guide others in their personal journies with Jesus.
Read John 6:43-45
Let’s consider a few key questions:
- When the Bible says, “They will all be taught by God,” who does this refer to?
- What must happen for someone to come to Jesus, according to Scripture?
- How can we help our friends learn from God?
Overcoming Hesitation to Meet Jesus
Here’s a story to illustrate today's topic:
A father wanted to teach his two-year-old son to swim. Every time he tried to get the boy into the pool, the child resisted, crying and clawing to escape. The father tried everything—reassuring him, offering pool toys, even pleading. But the boy refused.
Giving up for a while, the father enjoyed the pool alone. Eventually, the boy started watching. The father exaggerated how much he enjoyed the water, talking about how nice it felt in the sun. The toddler edged closer, dipping his toes in. The father splashed playfully, and soon the boy joined in the fun. Before long, the father opened his arms, and this time, the child joyfully jumped into the pool.
This is how it can be with people hesitant to meet Jesus. Sometimes we just need to show, not tell.
Letting God Teach
Many of us feel unsure about sharing our faith. We might worry we’re not persuasive enough. But the good news is we don’t have to do all the talking. People need to learn from God, and we can guide them to His Word.
The best way to help our friends is by introducing them to Bible passages and asking simple, open-ended questions. This approach is called Discovery Bible Study (DBS), and it’s used worldwide to introduce people to Jesus. The Waha app on iOS and Android makes it easy, using a “gather, press play, discuss” format.
What You Can Do TODAY!
Before starting DBS, you need to talk to people. You’ve been praying for those in your conversation quadrant—why not check in with one of them today? Have a simple conversation, look for opportunities to go deeper, and keep praying for those on your list!

About this Plan
Making disciples is a familiar yet misunderstood concept. Many feel that they lack the right gifting or personality to do it. However, disciple-making is not simply evangelism or a church program. In the Waha Disciple Making Challenge, we'll hear stories of ordinary people doing extraordinary things for God’s Kingdom. Through scripture, we will discover what disciple-making means, then end each day with a simple, low-pressure action step.
