Eliminating Excuses

DAY 5 OF 6

Day 5: Change your perspective

To eliminate excuses in our lives, we need to change our perspective. In Exodus 3:13-15, Moses asked God what to say if they questioned who sent him, and God replied by telling them that ’the I Am sent him.’ Moses, with all his insecurities, questions, and excuses, had to understand that the I Am was going to be with him.

If He is the I Am, then I am not. And therein lies the change in perspective, because I am not able to accomplish what He’s calling me to accomplish. I am not. But the all-powerful I Am is the one who is in me, goes with me, and makes a way.

To change our perspective means to understand that it doesn’t depend on my ability, it doesn’t depend on whether I can speak or not, it doesn't depend on my preparation, it doesn’t depend on my capacity. All those things are good, but we live a supernatural calling that is impossible for man, but possible for God. Are we letting God be God in our lives?

In Exodus 4, when Moses makes the excuse of not being able to speak, God affirms him that He will give him the words to speak. God was going to deal with what he knew was limiting him. All Moses needed to do was to show up, knock on the door, and dare to face Pharaoh. The rest was going to be done by the I Am.

It is important that we recognize that He is more powerful than us. And the I Am will do what we cannot do. All we have to do is show up, knock on doors, and dare to face what is in front of us, knowing that the I Am is with us. It is a change of perspective, from thinking that we’re alone and we’re not able; to knowing that the I Am goes with us and He is able.

Let God surprise you because the I Am does what the ‘’I am not’’ cannot do. If He is present, anything can happen. All we have to do is to be full of faith, trusting that He is able to do what we are not, knowing it is not about my oratory, nor my ability, gifts, or talents.

Don’t stop knocking on doors. The I Am will open them.

Don’t stop being present. The I Am will show up.

Don’t stop trying. Don’t stop getting out of the boat. The I Am will sustain you in the midst of any storm because it’s not about what we can do. It is about the One who called us and the supernatural and incomparable power that is in Him.

Prayer: Lord, I come before you knowing that only with you all things are possible, understanding that with you by my side my limitations are just excuses. I recognize that I am not and you are the I Am. I want your things; the supernatural, an unbreakable faith. Yours is the glory. Amen.
