Tough Questions… Jesus’ Answersಮಾದರಿ
What’s In Your Hand?
I remember early in my Christian walk God teaching me—and testing me—about my relationship with resources, growth, and development. I came to realize I was walking in fear—not faith—in these areas.
While fear hides, faith advances! We see a clear picture of this in The Parable of the Talents, found in Matthew 25:14-30. In this parable, Jesus paints a picture of the importance of wisely stewarding what He entrusts to us. Jesus is the Master in this parable—He has left the Earth and gone to Heaven, yet He’s coming again. When Jesus returns, He wants to find His children faithfully stewarding what He’s entrusted to them.
You may be asking—what is a steward? Well, a steward is not an owner, but a manager over something owned by another. For example, when our children reached driving age, we bought a car for them to drive. As owners, my wife and I entrusted them with the car’s use. They had the responsibility to manage the car well, while we maintained the rights to the car as owners.
In the same way, every possession we have comes from someone else—God! God entrusts His resources, and we have the responsibility to steward them in a way that blesses and glorifies Him.
Friends, I wonder how much stress and pressure we live under because we think our resources belong to us. We can keep that pressure off by remembering it all belongs to God!
As you engage with God’s word:
● What is God saying to you?
● What does it mean to you?
● What action step do you need to take?
After you reflect on these questions, bring everything to God in prayer.
