I am God's good idea!

James 1:18, MSG: "He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his creatures."

Genesis 2:18, NLT: Then the LORD God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper who is just right for him.”

God created woman purposefully to be a helper for man. Bible research reveals “ezer” as the Hebrew word translated as “helper” and “help meet.” “Ezer” is attributed to God in 16 of the 21 uses of “ezer” in the Bible. How remarkable it is for woman to have purpose anchored in roles that God Himself fulfills.

Notably, God’s first words to man and woman were words of blessing and dominion (read Gen 1:28). Importantly, God assessed all He had created as “…very good and He validated it completely” (Gen 1:31, AMP).

Later, man and woman disobeyed God’s command not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil in the Garden of Eden. In cursing the serpent, God foretold of woman’s profound role in His redemption plan:

"And I will put enmity (open hostility) Between you and the woman, And between your seed (offspring) and her Seed; He shall [fatally] bruise your head, And you shall [only] bruise His heel” (Gen 3:15, AMP).

Instead of giving up on humans altogether, the Trinity (God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit) chose to redeem humankind. Via redemption’s plan, all of humans’ sins were paid for, enabling humans’ reconciliation with God the Father. Through belief in Jesus Christ, humans are enabled to be and do what God the Father had purposed from the beginning. Ephesians 2:10, CEV summarizes the goodness God created humans for in declaring, “God planned for us to do good things and to live as he has always wanted us to live. This is why he sent Christ to make us what we are.”

Humans–men and women–are God’s good ideas. If you marvel at this concept, so did King David as written in Psalm 8:3-6, CEV:

“I often think of the heavens your hands have made, and of the moon and stars you put in place. Then I ask, 'Why do you care about us humans? Why are you concerned for us weaklings?' You made us a little lower than you yourself, and you have crowned us with glory and honor. You let us rule everything your hands have made. And you put all of it under our power-… “

Let there be no confusion. Humans are God’s good idea. Women are God’s good idea. God’s daughters are God’s good idea. You are God’s good idea.
