Cultivating an Attitude of Thanksgiving and Gratitudeಮಾದರಿ
Turn Your Heart And Mind Toward The Lord With Thanksgiving and Gratitude.
In the US, the Thanksgiving holiday commemorates the Pilgrim's celebration of the good harvest in the year 1621. Although it can be tough times for many during the holiday, we still have much to be thankful for.
I personally look forward to Thanksgiving because we can enjoy the holiday activities, the holiday feast, as well as inviting people who don’t have anywhere to go to our family festivities. This is an added blessing.
It’s also a time that many use to gather as a family for a wonderful feast or to go hit the malls the day after to shop-till-they-drop, trying to take advantage of the supposed "great sales". Or, others just sit back to watch a football game, to get some extra shuteye, or hundreds of other activities. Still others take the time to help feed those that don't have a place to spend the holiday or that do not have a home to keep them warm or money to eat.
Whatever your circumstances may be, what can you be thankful for this holiday or any day?
Above all else, I look at Thanksgiving as a great reminder and opportunity to turn our hearts and minds toward The Lord with thanksgiving and gratitude!
Whether you live in the US or not, I believe that we as followers of Christ truly have many things to thank God for. From His Son Jesus to everything He so graciously provides for us daily that we often forget to acknowledge Him for.
Let me encourage you to take time to thank God for all that He has done for you and reflect on all the things that you can be thankful for.
Whatever you decide to do, be thankful and think about using what God has blessed you with to help others from a heart filled with thankfulness and gratitude.
I pray that you turn your heart and mind toward The Lord with thanksgiving and gratitude.
