THE SCRIPTURES TESTIFY OF JESUS

John 5:39 NIV

"You study the Scriptures diligently because you think that in them you have eternal life. These are the very Scriptures that testify about me."

Welcome to Day 2 of our devotional plan. Today, we delve into the truth that the Scriptures testify about Jesus, guiding us to a deeper and more intimate knowledge of Him. Let's open our hearts to discover Christ in the pages of the Bible.

Our text reveals a very beautiful truth about the scriptures: the scriptures testify of Jesus. It means that whenever we read or study the scriptures, we will find Christ to be the picture the scriptures are painting to us. As we read and study our Bibles, we will know Christ more deeply and intimately.

Jesus told Thomas in John 14:7, "If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him.” This implies that knowing Christ is knowing God; we can only know Christ as we study the scriptures with faith and humility.

As we conclude Day 2, remember that studying the Scriptures with faith and humility allows us to know Christ and, in turn, know God. May your journey of faith continue to deepen your understanding and relationship with Him.
