"When your soul is full, you turn down even the sweetest honey. But when your soul is starving, every bitter thing becomes sweet" Proverbs 27:7

The soul is often described as one’s mind, will, emotions, and intellect. There’s also a level of mystery tied to the soul’s eternal faculties. But here’s what I know: when your soul is satisfied in God, even the most attractive alternatives won’t pique your curiosity. However, when your soul is starving, even the most toxic things become attractive to you. Having a full soul results in having a satisfied life. Have you ever heard the saying, “Don’t go to the grocery store on an empty stomach?” That’s because you’re more likely to succumb to your appetite. When we are hungry enough, we become more and more willing to consume whatever we can get our hands on. What we crave for doesn’t always satisfy what we’re made for. We’re made to forgive, yet we crave retaliation. We’re made to love, yet we build it around certain conditions. We’re made to share our faith, but we often try to protect our privacy. Is your soul fully satisfied?

When your soul is starved, you’ll get into the pettiest fights,

But when your soul is full, you’ll turn down even the sweetest argument.

When your soul is starved, you’ll talk behind people's back,

But when your soul is full, you’ll avoid the most convenient gossip.

When your soul is starved, you’ll criticize and compare,

But when your soul is full, you’ll choose to commend and celebrate.

When your soul is starved, you’ll compromise and isolate,

But when your soul is full, you’ll avoid temptation and pursue accountability.
