Seeing Jesus in the Gospel of Markಮಾದರಿ
LESSONS IN FAITH OVER FEAR
Look Closely:
- In the account of the fig tree (11:12-14, 20-26), what was the tree's condition on the second day? How do you think Peter felt when he saw it? How did Jesus’ response to Peter challenge His disciples to see life through spiritual eyes more than physical eyes?
- Today’s reading tells us three times that the chief priests were afraid. Who and/or what were they afraid of? How did their fear influence their interactions with Jesus and those following him?
- In 12:38-44, Jesus contrasted situations in which people looked faithful versus being faithful. How might people in the crowd have viewed the ceremony and appearance of the teachers of the law? How might they have thought about the widow? What does this passage tell us about Jesus’ priorities?

About this Plan
In a world of hostility, corruption, and confusion, a regular guy named Mark wrote his gospel to boldly proclaim that Jesus is THE good news. Mark vividly tells his story with urgency and purpose, giving all of us a front-row seat to the teachings, miracles, discipleship, and life of Jesus. This plan puts you in the story so that you can observe, ask questions, and learn alongside the disciples.
